Ndini (This is me) - Portraits by Mbeke Waseme

When I first came to this area, I worked in a coffee shop where I met lots of people. Those people still recognise me because I'm a very friendly person and when I see them we still stop and talk. I’ve been living in the area for almost 15 years. I lived here, moved to Strood and then moved back to Gravesend. The town has changed very much since I moved back. The changes are the same in the whole country. My favourite local place must be my Polish restaurant in Northfleet. I have been here seven or eight years and I also like the new part of Ebbsfleet where the new developments are taking place. I like the nice coffee shops and the area looks nice and clean. - From Ndini (This is me), a series of photographs and interviews with local residents by Mbeke Waseme, commissioned by Cement Fields for Ebbsfleet Citizen Archive.
